Fantastic Friday #486 - Victory

Victory

5 May we shout for joy over your victory
and lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your requests.
6 Now this I know:
The Lord gives victory to his anointed.
He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
with the victorious power of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:5-7

Do you ever go throughout your day trying to achieve some sort of victory? Maybe it is a small victory of a challenge at work, or a personal victory of challenging yourself to be more healthy or active, or it could be an actual physical or mental competition we try to win. I was listening to a famous Gospel singer Yolanda Adams sing a song called Victory this week, and there was something interesting about this song, the song focused a great deal about our Victory. It was not related to our actions, but to the actions of our Lord and Savior. Maybe that is one of our shortcomings in that we spend too much time focusing on our own personal victories and less time on the true victory that really matters. We can easily be reminded of this by a few words in a song or a few passages of God's Word. Keep sight of the victory that has already been won and trust in the Lord.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #485 - Find

Find

14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16

What do you see yourself trying to find? Is it something that seems elusive, or something that you really shouldn't be looking for but is easy to get? With the enemy, he tries to help you find the things you shouldn't be looking for, because those things pull us away from the thing we really should be grasping hold of daily. God knows that we struggle and we are tempted at every corner, because his son was tempted in every way as this scripture shows. What we have now that those before Jesus didn't have is the grace and mercy God showed us through the sacrifice of His son on the cross. How wonderful is it to have the sympathy of our Lord and Savior including His protection and forgiveness. If we search and ask for the right things, God will help us find Him and all His promises. Find Him daily.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #484 - Cry Out

Cry Out

17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles. Psalm 34:17

How do we make it from trial to trial? Some people choose to dwell on the problem that comes upon us and not let go and let God handle things for us. When we get so caught up in the trouble is when we tend to lose focus and find that our heart longs for the Lord, but how many of us truly cry out. Do we cry out in pain and suffering or do we cry out in need. Remember that God is waiting for us to cry out to Him and He will deliver us, we just need to remember to focus on him and not the trouble so much.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #483 - Destroy

Destroy

11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. 2 Peter 3:11-13

I look around quite often at the world and see where the enemy enters in to people's lives and attempts to destroy everything by pulling them away from God. The enemy uses hate, anger, frustration, sadness, and other emotions that make people wonder where God is in their life. That is exactly what the enemy wants and that is to doubt God and His involvement and care for our lives. While there are people who's lives are being destroyed or thrown off balance, there are those who choose not to let the enemy beat them down because they have faith in God's promise. Living a holy and godly life can help us look forward to the day when God gives those who are faithful the rewards of everlasting life. So, don't let the enemy use the tool of negativity to pull you away from God and destroy your life, but let God's promise drive you daily.

Have a great weekend.
