Change
17 Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches. 18 Was a man already circumcised when he was called? He should not become uncircumcised. Was a man uncircumcised when he was called? He should not be circumcised. 19 Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing.Keeping God’s commands is what counts. 20 Each person should remain in the situation they were in when God called them. 1 Corinthians 7:17-20
If you are like me, things are typically heading in the direction you want, and then there is a change that takes place that can totally throw you off kilter. The change can be something simple to overcome, or it can be something grand that moves you on a path that takes you a long time to overcome. The funny thing is how many times do we think that this change is something that God has assigned to us? I bet that is not very often, and I bet we think these things are sometimes from the enemy. God places us in these situations to test us in a number of ways, but the biggest test seems to be our Faith. Yep, the Faith that we already know about, and the Faith that we know God is going to get us through this change. However, most of us forget about the Faith in our Lord and Savior and this can impact how long we are in this situation. If we take the perspective each time we experience change as something that God has given us, then we can more easily lean into His faithfulness to move us through the change. Keep this in mind the next time the big change hits you, and remain where you are and remain in Him.
Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #511 - Loaf
Loaf
15 I speak to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say. 16 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? 17 Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all share the one loaf. 1 Corinthians 10:15-17
What do you see when you look at a loaf of bread? Do you see something that gives you nourishment? What if the loaf of bread has mold on it, do you see the loaf as something disgusting and just toss it away? The symbolic partaking of the bread in this scripture shows how we honor the sacrifice Christ made for us, and according to this scripture when we do this we are part of a larger group because of what we share in Christ. If we are the body then what if someone we know has sin in their life? Do you throw them away like the moldy bread, or do you surround them with love and care. Since we all share one loaf, don't turn your back on those moldy people around you but work to build them up since they all share the same loaf.
Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #510 - Covenant
Covenant
19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying,“This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you. Luke 22:19-20
Pact, arrangement and promise all synonymous with the word Covenant. Have you taken any time this week to think about a promise or deal you have made recently. Did you follow through with that promise, or did your life get too busy to follow through. We all have commitments we make and sometimes we cannot follow through on them which could have a real impact on the relationship we have with others. Take a look at this scripture and notice the covenant God has made with us, one that will not be broken, one that He will not go back on. When we make our promises or deals with people, maybe we should model these after God's covenant and not go back on these. If we followed through like God has with His covenant, maybe our relationships would be stronger. If our relationship with God is stronger in remembering His covenant, our lives would more focused on those promises and less on ourselves.
Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #509 - Dispute
Dispute
If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord’s people? 2 Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases?3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! 4 Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church? 5 I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? 6 But instead, one brother takes another to court—and this in front of unbelievers!
7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters. 9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? 1 Corinthians 6:1-9
Have you had a dispute in the past that has led to someone filing a lawsuit against you or you filed against someone else? What was the real reason behind the lawsuit? Was the lawsuit valid or was it someone that was out to harm you and your family financially. When things like this occur, it is not just the financial harm that can come to someone, it is also emotionally taxing and people can begin to ask if themselves if they really did something wrong. For people who are going through this, or have gone through these circumstances there are some things to think about. For the people who are going through it, what is the real reason for this challenge you are faced with and are you placing everything at God's feet. For those who have gone through it, can you see how God weaved His plan together and can you see how faithful He is always? In either case of hardship or reflection we need to remember how faithful God is and know that He will take care of those who believe in Him and honor Him.
Have a great weekend.
