Fantastic Friday #603 - Act

Act

21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. James 2:21-23

When we act on something, we typically put a great deal of thought into it. We usually plan, think through the different scenarios and go with the best plan that is going to get us where we need to be.  When we react to something, there is usually not a great deal of thought put into it.  Abraham acted on what his Father told him to do, and his faith was made complete as the scripture reads.  If we were to take a lesson and Act instead of React, our life might take a different path, one that is rewarding and loving and ends up being faith-filled.  Focus on the Act in our life and not the Re.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #602 - Voice

Voice

27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. John 10:27-28

Do you find yourself ever stopping to listen to the voices in the room? Some have inflections that are strong and others have a different cadence. Not one person speaks the same way and sometimes we cannot discern what is being said because there are too many voices. It is important for us in our daily life to listen to the one true voice to guide us, because his voice is strong, firm, loving and caring. With these attributes, it should drown out all other voices in our life that we shouldn't be listening to and focus in on Him. Take a moment to listen to His voice and hear what you know is true.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #601 - Lamp

Good Morning,

Lamp

22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. Matthew 6:22

How bright is a lamp if you have one beside your bed? My guess is that it is pretty dim compared to an overhead light or the sun coming in through the curtains. Unless of course if you have the three-way bulb in your light, then you have three different levels of light. What are you looking at with your eyes on a daily basis? Are the things you see from your view appropriate? When we spend our time looking at things that might be lacking then our eyes could dim like the lowest level on the three-way bulb. We need to keep our eyes healthy so our body can be full and we can have a positive impact on those around us. Darkness is the losing side and the light can overtake the darkness.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #600 - Wisdom

Good Morning,

Wisdom

17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. Ephesians 1:17-23

Do you ever sit down and think of the wisdom you have? You know, taking and applying the things you have learned in your everyday walk. Wisdom is good if we use it correctly but if we neglect it then the enemy can come in and snatch you away from where God wants you to be. When we take the wisdom we have and use it, as the scripture states, it gets us to know Him better. When we know Him better our relationship is stronger with Him and we can see how relying on Him for strength can get us through anything. God is powerful and so is the wisdom He provides and if God can raise Christ from the dead, think of what He can do in your life if you focus on the wisdom He gives you freely. Wisdom, the gateway to understanding truth.

Have a great weekend.
