16 But I will sing of your strength,
in the morning I will sing of your love;
for you are my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble.
17 You are my strength, I sing praise to you;
you, God, are my fortress,
my God on whom I can rely. Psalm 59:16-17
I am weak, I admit it. I always think that I am stronger, until I find the weakness that overtakes me physically and emotionally. My kids tell me that I am an emotional dad, and that is true, but I also am a dad and husband who wants to fix everything. When I can't fix everything, my weakness shows when I don't rely on our Father in Heaven. Our relationship with God should be one of regular reliance, and not one of, I will call on you when I need you because I am strong enough on my own. Reliance should be daily, and should involve a close conversational relationship with Him, so when you truly need extra guidance and hope, it does not seem like your relationship is just beginning. I love this scripture showing how God is and can be our strength, but we should also acknowledge His strength in our relationship and remember we can't do it all on our own, and we can't fix everything ourselves. Only God can fully fix us and what is going on in our life.
Have a great weekend.
