Crying
3 And
I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling
place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will
be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He
will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’
or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed
away.” 5 He who was seated on the throne
said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down,
for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:3-5
In the last week I have seen many people cry. There was joyful
crying that showed how happy someone was to see their son. Their was a
weeping that had a deep emotional pull on the person I observed. There
was a crying I saw where someone was not very happy to see someone leave
them after spending several days with them. And then there was the eye
watering crying that I observed by watching the Olympics, and yes all
three of my kids turned around to see if my eyes were watering. Maybe
not everyone is an emotional person and experiences crying, but everyone
has some level of emotion when they feel like they might not be where
they need to be, or something just isn't happening right for them. I so
look forward to the day when we don't have to have these sad, crying,
emotional responses to our life and have our Lord and Savior sitting on
that throne for us to worship. We don't have to wait on that day,
especially if we continue to realize the hope we have is in the return
of our Lord and Savior. Emotion is something God gave us, we just need
to remember not to let it overtake our lives. Let hope overturn our
sadness, our crying and our emotions.
Have a great weekend.
