Hope
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not
only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,
groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the
redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:22-25
What an interesting word Hope is in our society, but think about how
it is used in our vocabulary these days. I hope to get a good grade on
my test, or I hope to get a good evaluation at work. I hope that I get
what I asked for on my Christmas List, or I hope there is a good
dessert tonight. If you think about how we Hope these days, a lot of
times we Hope for things we already have but we always seem to want
more. I think the Hope that we should be looking for is the Hope that
we will one day be back in the arms of our Lord. Too often we forget
about the sacrifice that was made for us because we spend too much time
putting our Hope in the human beings or stuff around us. During these
days, we need to put our Hope in the Lord, because He is the only thing
we need.
Psalm 39:7 says: “But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you." Let's put our Hope in Him and see how our life is completely transformed.
Have a great weekend.
