Fantastic Friday #382- Separate

Separate

34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
    we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[j]
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  Romans 8:34-37

As I was running this morning and walking this week on campus, I ran across several cracks in the road and in a sidewalk.  The areas where there were cracks, there was no joint that was separating the sidewalk pieces or the road from each other.  When proper joints are placed in a concrete pour, you are less likely to see cracking of the sidewalk because the joint creates a buffer between the large pieces of concrete that will tend to move with the earth.  Now, you are probably wondering why I am talking about concrete and cracks and joints.  Well, this kind of made me think of how Christ is the joint in our lives that separates us from trouble, hardship and Satan.  As long as we let Him be our joint, He can protect us against cracking to the enemy's pressure and the troubles all around us.  He makes us stronger than we would be without a joint to buffer against the pain and suffering.  So let us remember that God is there for us, loves us and keeps us strong.  The next time you see a crack in a sidewalk, think about how you are strong without any cracks due to the joint of protection that Christ provides.

Have a great weekend.
