Enjoyment
17 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God,who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life. 1 Timothy 6:17-19
What do you find great enjoyment in during your daily life? Is it the sunrise in the morning, long walks, TV shows, sports, teaching others, family time, and I know this list can go on and on. If you think of the things you enjoy during a day, how much of it is related to money or wealth? Then look at how much you enjoy is related to God and His provision. Some of the times of most enjoyment for me are the times I spend with my family in activity, discussion or just being together. This last week my wife was out of town, my kids were moving in all different directions, and we ended up spending very little time together as a family this week. It continues to make me realize that first my enjoyment comes from God in all he provides, and a huge enjoyment is the time we spend together as a family. During these busy times in our life, we need to remember to focus on our family time, build each other up, and gain enjoyment out of what God has given us. Stop pursuing enjoyment in things that are uncertain, but place your enjoyment in the things that are certain.
Have a great weekend.
