Fantastic Friday #477 - Hurt

Hurt

21 Daniel answered, “May the king live forever! 22 My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.”

23 The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. Daniel 6:21-23

This week I experienced a bit of hurt. I was hurt by something I had heard from a dear friend. This friend was told something by someone who knows nothing about me or my decision I have made recently. This decision I made was after a long thoughtful process filled with prayer and guidance from those I trust. Today, I started thinking about how my hurt was more about how people say things that are particularly none of their business, than what was actually shared. I also thought of God's protection during this process, and how I just didn't come to this decision as a reactionary move, but more as a processing that required the input of my Lord and Savior. If we looked at all of our decisions as a process where we turn to our Lord and Savior first rather than last, I think our hurt would be felt less and our lives would be more fulfilling. I would rather be fulfilled than hurt and I am sure most people would feel the same way.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #476 - Stumble

Stumble

18 The path of the righteous is like the morning sun,
shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
19 But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;
they do not know what makes them stumble. Proverbs 4:18-19

This week I stubbed my toe and stumbled when I got up in the middle of the night and boy was it painful. I thought about what caused me to stumble, and the only thing that I can think is that the lights were out and it was very dark so I didn't see what I stubbed my toe on. Our lives can be that way as well. When we live a righteous life, we can see more clearly what is going on and follow the right path. When we slip into the darkness of sin, we lose sight of what is important and stumble and can definitely fall further away from the path we should follow. I think we can agree that it is much better to live in the light than in the dark, and it is more important to see where you are going so that you don't stub your toe.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #475- Thoughts

Thoughts

4 For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
I sing for joy at what your hands have done.
5 How great are your works, Lord,
how profound your thoughts!
6 Senseless people do not know,
fools do not understand, Psalm 92:4-6

Do you sit around and think during the day? Some people call it daydreaming, I call it thinking because thoughts come into my my mind which make me go into deep thought. What is done with those thoughts is really what we need to focus on daily. It is easy to slip into thoughts of doubt and discouragement, because the enemy is an expert of that and also the enemy is excellent at distracting us from what we should be focusing on during the day. One way to battle the distractions is to remember the power of God's word and His work. His word is strong, and His creation is amazing, remember we are His creation that came from His thoughts. If His thoughts can be this profound, then ours can rise above the senseless mess that takes place in this world. Have thoughts, just make sure they are not the thoughts of fools.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #474 - Slipping

Slipping

18 When I said, “My foot is slipping,”
your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.
19 When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought me joy. Psalm 94:18-19

Do you find yourself slipping at times? Maybe you are slipping away from a positive situation and into a bad habit. Perhaps you find that your slipping away from God's teaching and His word. These things are very easy to find slippery when we do not have a solid support system in place. Just like a floor that has water on it becomes slippery, so our life becomes slick when we don't let God take away our anxiety. When He is in our life on a daily basis, we begin to find support and love and joy is in our life. I would much rather have a life of traction, than one where I am slipping all over the place and further from our Lord.

Have a great weekend.
