Stumble
18 The path of the righteous is like the morning sun,
shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
19 But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;
they do not know what makes them stumble. Proverbs 4:18-19
This week I stubbed my toe and stumbled when I got up in the middle of the night and boy was it painful. I thought about what caused me to stumble, and the only thing that I can think is that the lights were out and it was very dark so I didn't see what I stubbed my toe on. Our lives can be that way as well. When we live a righteous life, we can see more clearly what is going on and follow the right path. When we slip into the darkness of sin, we lose sight of what is important and stumble and can definitely fall further away from the path we should follow. I think we can agree that it is much better to live in the light than in the dark, and it is more important to see where you are going so that you don't stub your toe.
