Giving
15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Epehsians 5:15-20
I am not going to talk about giving in this season of our lives, I am going to talk about giving thanks to our Father in Heaven. Every day we can find ourselves trapped in the world of living unwise, thinking of how we can get and not what we can give. We all live different lives, have different roles and jobs, but how many of us stop down to give thanks to our Father in Heaven for what He has given us? Instead we shuffle around wondering what is next for us, what new toy we can get, where our next meal is coming from or how we can get ahead of that person that seems always to be out in front. We need to pause our giving, not actual giving, but giving in to the enemy and begin to thank God for everything in our life. Once we start living a life of gratefulness, our eyes will be opened to what we truly have, and what we can look forward to. In this season of giving, give thanks to our Lord and Savior first.
Have a great weekend.
Matt
