Fantastic Friday #960 - Solutions

Solutions

3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. Romans 6:3-5

I was in a meeting this week where some folks were trying to come up with a clear solution to a problem we had on a project. I observed this from a bit of a distance because it was not my area of expertise. I began noticing that there were some really reasonable people in the meeting and others that weren't so accommodating to suggestions by others. In fact, one person came across very defensive and it was surprising to see this kind of attitude. So, for several minutes a solution did not present itself because too many people were talking, having side conversations and not listening to the ideas. Finally, cooler heads prevailed and the solution was decided upon by the group and it was very reasonable. When we are looking for a solution on where we lie with our forgiveness from Christ, there is a pretty good solution already provided and outlined in the above scripture. It is because of one individual's sacrifice that we can be made whole again. People sometimes try to look for many solutions to get our souls to the place they need to be, and they can be spinning their wheels because the singular solution is right in front of them. Too often we get caught up into the temptation to not take the solution that God has provided us, and we head down a path of resistance. That path only leads to pain and darkness, so take the solution that God has for us and has prepared for us.

Have a great weekend.

Matt
