Fantastic Friday #962 - Winds

Winds

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. Matthew 7:24-26

With all the storms and hurricanes that have happened over the last several years, some people will sit back and say, how can a loving God allow this kind of destruction to occur. I sometimes wonder if these things are allowed to happen so people will think about the power of God and His restorative power. While many people don't come back from these damaging storms, there are many people who do, and while it may not be tied to their belief in God and His plan for our lives, it certainly can be a starting point to see Him. I will say though that if people live through a tragedy, how can you not think of God and His power. Where is our foundation built in our relationship with God? Is it like the scripture describes on a sturdy foundation, or is it something that is unsound and always moving. The more we build our life on God and His teachings, the more we will begin to understand Him and what He has for our life. My daughter and son-in-law had two significant car issues this week with each of their cars and the first thing that my daughter said was that I guess it was part of God's plan. While we don't always see that in the moment, the foundation we build can help us see the best of God's plan.

Have a great weekend.

Matt
