Connection
16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. 18 Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind. 19 They have lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow. Colossians 2:16-19
I found myself this week in a large family reunion. It wasn't with my immediate family, but with my extended work-related family. This group of people, some close, some acquaintances and some new to my life, are individuals that truly mean a lot to me. It is through connection with these individuals that I have been able to make it through the past 30+ years in my position in the working world. It is connections with these individuals that have stuck us together through the good times and the challenging times, and although we only may get to see each other maybe once or twice a year, we always seem to pick up where we left off like it was yesterday. When we think of connections to our father in heaven, I wonder how many of us take the time to reconnect with Him daily. I also wonder if the connection with Him is as strong as it should be. I do know one thing, that God desires the connection with us, because His influence does help us grow and learn the way we should be living our life to get back to Him. Just like we desire connection with our friends, we need to desire the connection with our Father in Heaven. You never know, maybe your connection with Him will help you reach others to have a connection with Him as well. Connect well and remember that positive connections are good and can help us grow.
Have a great weekend.
Matt--
