Fantastic Friday #362 - Stuff

Stuff

20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. 21 Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. 22 Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:20-22

Do you ever look around at the things you have and think, boy I have some nice stuff?  Or do you think, how do I have this much stuff, and what is it good for?    While a hammer is useful for building something, why do you have three hammers when two of them are just sitting there collecting dust.  Your fine China is beautiful, but is it useful if you only use it once or twice a year on those special holidays? When you look at the items you possess, do you look at your internal self? There are characteristics that are inside you which makes you the type of person you are today, and it is more important than the stuff lying around withering away or collecting dust. The problem that most people have is they place their value in the wrong things.  I think it is most important to look at your stuff that is internal and how it can have a significant impact on those around you.  God will use your internal stuff for His purposes and His good works, but we just have to pay attention to how He wants us to use it.

Have a great weekend.
