Fantastic Friday #484 - Cry Out

Cry Out

17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles. Psalm 34:17

How do we make it from trial to trial? Some people choose to dwell on the problem that comes upon us and not let go and let God handle things for us. When we get so caught up in the trouble is when we tend to lose focus and find that our heart longs for the Lord, but how many of us truly cry out. Do we cry out in pain and suffering or do we cry out in need. Remember that God is waiting for us to cry out to Him and He will deliver us, we just need to remember to focus on him and not the trouble so much.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #483 - Destroy

Destroy

11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. 2 Peter 3:11-13

I look around quite often at the world and see where the enemy enters in to people's lives and attempts to destroy everything by pulling them away from God. The enemy uses hate, anger, frustration, sadness, and other emotions that make people wonder where God is in their life. That is exactly what the enemy wants and that is to doubt God and His involvement and care for our lives. While there are people who's lives are being destroyed or thrown off balance, there are those who choose not to let the enemy beat them down because they have faith in God's promise. Living a holy and godly life can help us look forward to the day when God gives those who are faithful the rewards of everlasting life. So, don't let the enemy use the tool of negativity to pull you away from God and destroy your life, but let God's promise drive you daily.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #482 - Call

Call

9 Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

“If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
with the pointing finger and malicious talk,
10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday. Isaiah 58:9-10

When you call on the Lord, do you sometimes feel that He is not listening? When we call on the Lord is it the last resort for us when we are in need? There are difficult times that we all go through and calling on the Lord daily should be our first priority, especially when we know we can't do it ourselves. When you are in conflict or feel oppressed by someone else, do you focus your prayer only on yourself, or do you stop to pray for that person. Sometimes the prayer for that other person is the more important prayer. We know God is always listening, but are we. When we cry for help, make sure to listen and spend less time placing blame for the circumstances you are in. Let God's light shine brightly before you and let Him guide you. Listen for Him to say "Here am I."

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #481 - Greater

Greater

19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 1 John 3:19-21

Do you find at times that you condemn yourself for things you really shouldn't? Life can throw us all kind of challenges and how we react on the front end of that challenge really sets the stage for how you deal with things. We must respond to these challenges knowing in our heart that God is truth and when we are in His presence, He can comfort and guide us. It is really hard for us to remember how big God is when the enemy tries to show us how small we are and makes us think that God doesn't care. Just like the scripture says, we need to rest in His presence. We need to know how Great God is, and we cannot condemn ourselves for the mistakes we make or the challenges that come into our life. We have to face every challenge with confidence that God is going to pull us through that situation and bring us closer to Him.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #480 - Humble

Humble

10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. James 4:10

We can go all day long and say that we need the Lord, but what do we do to make sure we hear the Lord. Part of our life is hit on every side from the enemy who tells us we can do it on our own and we don't need the Lord, but that is not what God wants. He wants us to want Him and He wants to help us. The first thing we should do when asking for help, is to Humble ourselves. A lot of times it can be difficult to humble ourselves because we are wrapped up in what our problems are, but that is what the enemy wants. The enemy says that no one can help us, but that is not true. This scripture is very plain that we should humble ourselves and He will help us.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #479 - Life

Life

10 For,“Whoever would love life

and see good days

must keep their tongue from evil

and their lips from deceitful speech.

11 They must turn from evil and do good;

they must seek peace and pursue it. 1 Peter 3:10-11

It is good to enjoy life and see the good that comes from those good parts of your day. This last week I got to share an amazing experience with my son and family, at the same time there were difficulties that surrounded us. Being able to focus on the good things of life can bring more joy to our life than when we focus on the less positive things. It is important to love our lives and reflect on the joy we have with our family and loved ones, and spend those times together. God gave us families for that specific reason and we should honor God by loving our life.

Have a great weekend.

Fantastic Friday #478 - Hope

Hope

5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:5

What do you desire? What do you feel? What do you expect? The interesting thing about hope is that it involves a deep feeling that we come across when we desire or expect something. When we wait in anticipation for something to happen, we can have multiple feelings cross in and out of our mind. We also can have the enemy try and squash our hope by putting feelings of doubt, and unhealthy desires in our path. This can become quite challenging for those who don't have a strong faith in our God. This is why I love this passage so much. The Holy Spirit being poured into us can help protect us from those feelings of doubt, anxiousness, and negativity around us that would keep us from hoping for what is to come. The Holy Spirit can help us not feel the shame but give us hope for God's plan for our life. Let your hope shine brightly with the Holy Spirit as your guide.

Have a great weekend.
